The Lehigh 1-MBA Program offers a Number of Potential Funding Options for our Graduate Students
If you are being sponsored by your current place of employment (gap year), then a letter from that employer outlining the employer's tuition reimbursement policy/stipulations for your attendance must be submitted to the Graduate Programs Office.
All applicants are considered for the following scholarships unless otherwise noted.
Tier 1 Scholarships
To be considered for a Tier 1 merit-based scholarship, an applicant is required to submit current GMAT or GRE test scores with the 1-MBA application.
The Dean's Scholarship is based on the strength of your application package. These scholarships are full-tuition scholarships plus a $10,000 stipend.
Tier 2 Scholarships
To be considered for a Tier 2 merit-based scholarship, an applicant has the option to submit current GMAT or GRE test scores with the 1-MBA application. Submission of a GMAT or GRE test score is not required for Tier 2 scholarship consideration.
The Director's Scholarship is a merit based, partial tuition scholarship. Awards range from $5,000 to full-tuition scholarships.
The Lehigh University Alumni Scholarship is offered to graduates of Lehigh University at any level (Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate). This scholarship is for applicants to the 1-MBA Program and represents a 50% scholarship. The scholarship automatically applies to candidates who are offered admission and meet the criteria above.
This academic scholarship of $40,000 is awarded to admitted students who achieved a GPA of 3.3 or higher in their undergraduate studies and who have lived in the state of Pennsylvania as their primary residence for at least 12 consecutive months immediately before their initial enrollment at Lehigh University's 1-MBA program. Documentation will be required to confirm eligibility. This scholarship cannot be combined with the Lehigh University Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship pays homage to Lehigh University's founding in 1865 and its continuity as one of the top private universities in the keystone state of Pennsylvania.
Lehigh University, College of Business is one of less than twenty universities who are considered part of the Diamond Tier Partners with NBMBAA. The College of Business awards a minimum of one merit based full tuition scholarship annually for the 1-MBA Program, along with a number of partial tuition scholarships ranging from $5,000 up to full tuition scholarships for qualified applicants. This scholarship is open to active members of NBMBAA. To join NBMBAA or explore their programs and events, visit the NBMBAA website. Please note in your application if you are a current active member of NBMBAA when applying to the 1-MBA program.
Lehigh University is pleased to announce the allocation of full and partial tuition scholarships for the Lehigh 1-MBA program to Staff Members working at the United Nations and diplomatic missions to the United Nations. Each scholarship covers partial or all of the tuition for the one-year MBA program. The scholarships will be given on a competitive basis to applicants from the United Nations family.
The Service Member to Veteran Scholarship is for veterans who are eligible for Chapter 33 of the Post 9/11 GI Bill (100% eligibility tier) who is admitted into the 1-MBA program. The scholarship mimics the Yellow Ribbon Program, however Lehigh University will cover any tuition difference between the private school national maximum tuition allowance per academic year and 1-MBA tuition using institutional scholarship. You will be required to submit the University's VA Benefits survey to gain access to the $2,000 academic year Yellow Ribbon award for Graduate Students. The balance of your tuition will be covered by institutional scholarship from the College of Business. Please upload a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility form from the VA with your 1-MBA application, so your eligibility can be factored in. Please also provide a copy of this form to the Office of Financial Aid upon being admitted. If you are a veteran eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill under a different chapter or under a different % eligibility tier, please contact us so we can factor this into our scholarship offer.
Lehigh University, College of Business is one of less than thirty universities who are considered part of the Prospanica University Partnership Program (UPP) to help qualified Hispanic students achieve their MBA goals. The College of Business awards a minimum of one merit based full tuition scholarship annually for the 1-MBA Program, along with a number of partial tuition scholarships ranging from $5,000 up to full tuition scholarships for qualified applicants.
To qualify for consideration, the applicant must be admitted to the 1-MBA cohort and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or above from their previous undergraduate education and be a student of Hispanic/Latino heritage or a student with a demonstrated commitment to the Hispanic community. All applicants are considered upon submitting a completed application for the 1-MBA program.
Lehigh University is a participating institution with the Yellow Ribbon Program. Veterans who are eligible to receive this benefit should contact the Department of Veterans Affairs through this link to learn more about the Yellow Ribbon Program and how the benefit can be used at Lehigh University. All of the Graduate Programs at the College of Business are available to candidates who plan to use their tuition benefit. Lehigh University's Yellow Ribbon Program is available to 40 new graduate students, with a cap of $2,000/academic year. The first 40 new graduate students to submit the university’s required VA benefit survey will be selected to receive the Yellow Ribbon Benefits. If you are eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, please refer to the Service Member to Veteran Scholarship above, which ensures no out of pocket tuition cost for eligible veterans.
The Lehigh Global Village Scholarship is for Lehigh Global Village alums who return to Lehigh for the 1-MBA Program. This award is equivalent to the current Global Village Tuition amount in the summer prior to beginning the 1-MBA. Candidates who receive this scholarship are still eligible for additional awards above, but the Global Village Scholarship is a guaranteed amount for eligible GV Alums who return to Lehigh for the 1-MBA Program. It's our way of saying, "Welcome Back!"
For applicants who may be impacted by recent layoffs or rescinded job offers in the United States between October 1, 2022 through April 15, 2023, you may qualify for the following scholarship:
This $12,000 scholarship has been created to acknowledge the impact of a recent layoff or rescinded job offer and serves to make the cost of a graduate business degree more attainable to eligible applicants.
The Economic Impact Scholarship is divided into two $5,000 scholarships and one $2,000 scholarship. The $5,000 scholarship is allotted at the beginning of the initial spring and fall semesters. In addition to this, Lehigh will add an additional $2,000 to help soften the impact of sudden life changes of having to quickly prepare for a graduate program. The $2,000 scholarship is applied to a student’s account in the first semester to lessen the impact of recently incurred costs, such as switching visa status to F-1, new laptop, and relocation costs.
Please note this is a scholarship and not reimbursement, so the recipient does not need to provide evidence of how the scholarship is used.
