Minoring in Economics

All students from the College of Arts & Sciences, the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering, the College of Health, and the intercollegiate programs IDEAS, CSB, and IBE are eligible to minor in economics. 

Requirements for the minor are show below. In all cases, students are responsible for completing any prerequisites the required courses might involve. Please check with the Minor Advisor for more information.

Requirements

A student must complete 16 credits to minor in economics. These credits consist of three required courses:

  • ECO 001, Principles of Economics: 4 credits
  • ECO 146, Intermediate Microeconomics Analysis: 3 credits
  • ECO 119, Intermediate Macroeconomics Analysis: 3 credits

plus two electives, one of which can be a 200-level course, but one of which must be a 300-level course:

  • ECO 2xx or ECO 3xx: 3 credits
  • ECO 3xx: 3 credits

Important – Please note that ECO 201, ECO 259, ECO 273, ECO 274, ECO 301, ECO 362, ECO 371, and ECO 389 may not be used to fulfill the elective requirement.

Declaring a Minor

To declare a minor, download and fill out the economics minor declaration form and bring it to either Professor Liu in Rauch, Room 459 or to Gretchen Meyerhoefer, Economics Coordinator, in Rauch, Room 461. Alternately, you may email your completed form to Professor Liu at mel622@lehigh.edu (please copy Gretchen at gpm319@lehigh.edu).
