Launched this past fall, the Year of Learning is a college-wide initiative that focuses the Lehigh Business students and faculty on a particular area of interest through classroom activities and campus events.
Each year the College chooses a theme and weave it through all of its programs. The goal is to enable students to learn about the topic through many lenses and activities.
This year’s theme is The Corporation & Society—taking a look at the evolving role of corporations in our world. This topic builds upon a statement put out by the Business Roundtable that challenges the primacy of maximizing shareholder value in defining the role of the corporation. Rather, the role of the corporation is to work for the betterment of all its stakeholders, employees, customers, society in addition to the shareholders.
