Yamil Sanchez Rivera, ’22 MBA
Yamil Sanchez Rivera ’22 MBA was appointed to the Reading Hospital Tower Health Board of Trustees this past December. Sanchez is a candidate in Lehigh Business’ FLEX MBA program.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Sanchez is an educator and life-long learner with over 25 years of experience working with schools and nonprofits. He holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Villanova University, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Kutztown University and earned his doctorate in education in curriculum and instruction from Lehigh University.
Sanchez has served as a teacher and administrator of youth and family services for nonprofits in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York. Sanchez is the chief administrative officer with the Reading School District in Pennsylvania. Sanchez’s work in nonprofit youth related development programs, in the United Way system and with public school systems has provided great insight in working as part of a collective to help children and families experience success at home, in the community and in school. “I am most fulfilled when I am out there serving others. Anything that helps young people makes me happy,” says Sanchez.
Sanchez joined the FLEX MBA program in spring 2020. He plans to graduate this May. Sanchez was recently selected for the Global Social Impact Fellowship, a highly self-selected cohort of Lehigh students focused on addressing sustainable development challenges in low-income countries.
Kim Rogoff ’94
Kim Rogoff ’94 accepted a position at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., as vice president, corporate financial planning and analysis in January 2021. Rogoff has served on the College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council since 2018. She is currently council chair. Rogoff started her career in public accounting, earning her CPA. Previously, she was senior vice president of finance, global corporate financial planning and analysis at Tapestry (formerly Coach, Inc.). Rogoff has a B.S. in Business and Economics from Lehigh.
Jason Hockenberry ’08 Ph.D.
Jason Hockenberry ’08 Ph.D. joined the Yale School of Public Health this past spring and will chair its Department of Health Policy and Management. Hockenberry started his Ph.D. at Lehigh Business thinking he would focus on finance and innovation. Not long after meeting his advisor, Shin-Yi Chou, chair of the department of economics, he switched his interests to health care policy, saying that their conversations about health care economics and policy convinced him that he was better suited to those areas of study. He was Professor Chou’s first Ph.D. student.
Christopher M. Scott ’94
Christopher Scott was appointed to Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees on July 1, 2021, for a three-year term. Scott is past chair of the College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council and a current member of the Council. He also served as a member of the Lehigh Leadership Council from 2003 to 2008. Scott is a managing director in Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Scott worked for Ally Financial Inc., for 11 years, where he was responsible for the investment and mortgage portfolios. Prior to that, Scott spent 14 years at Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Lehigh.
