Prema Maringanti ’28 fit years’ worth of experiences into just 2 semesters.
"It was really such a butterfly effect,” Prema Maringanti ’28 says when describing her experience at Lehigh.
Originally from New Jersey, Maringanti thought she would end up at a school far from home—at least until she stumbled upon Lehigh’s IBE program. She says she always loved math and engineering, and the program meant she didn’t need to choose. Maringanti also applied to the 4+1 master’s in financial engineering (MFE) program on a whim after seeing it on the Common App. Those small discoveries made Lehigh stand out among other schools, and when she finally stepped onto campus, the decision to enroll was a no-brainer.
Now, starting her third semester of her collegiate career, Maringanti is pursuing her MFE with dual majors in industrial and systems engineering and economics. In her short time at Lehigh, Maringanti has packed in as many experiences as possible. She’s a member of several student organizations, including Lehigh Consulting Group, The Women’s Network and even the acapella group, the Melismatics.
Maringanti’s involvement on campus led her to her current role as a strategy consulting intern at The Financial Times in London. She said working abroad has been pivotal to developing her career path. In the future, Maringanti aspires to work in consulting and travel while working internationally.
