This past September, the College of Business held the Lehigh LUminaries induction ceremony in the lobby of the Business Innovation Building.
This year’s class was made up of four LUminaries—Murray Goodman ’48, Donald Gruhn ’49, Sanjay Shah MBA ’89 and Ronald Ulrich ’66—all of whom, sadly, have passed away over the last 20 months.
The objective of the Lehigh LUminaries is to highlight and honor any Lehigh alumni who contributed to the business world, both for-profit and nonprofit.
Goodman was a pioneer of the “super-regional mall,” a retail concept popularized in the 1950s and ’60s. Gruhn was an accomplished financier. Shah was founder and CEO of a global software company. Ulrich built a distinguished Wall Street career.
“The legacies of these four inductees are not just about their business acumen,” said Dean Manoj Malhotra during the ceremony. “Their spirit lives on and endures in the students, programs and places at Lehigh that benefited from their remarkable generosity.”
The four-foot-high, thirteen-and-a-half-foot-wide video wall, made possible by Lehigh alumni from PwC, is where the stories and photos of the LUminaries are displayed.
