Lehigh College of Business and the College of Health are launching an interdisciplinary educational program that combines the core principles of business with exhaustive knowledge of the health system and health policies. The integrated degree in business and health (IBH) prepares undergraduates to be leaders in the healthcare community.

“Healthcare is one of the largest and fastest growing segments of the economy, but unfortunately it is also one of the most complex,” says Josh Raskin ’95 accounting, cofounder and partner at Nephron Research LLC, an independent provider of healthcare investment research. “Understanding the financing of this $4.5 trillion industry is an imperative to ensure a system that functions better in the future.”

Students with a degree from the inter-college program will have the unique ability to navigate their organizations through the complex institutional structures and policies of the healthcare sector, and devise solutions to one of society’s most pressing challenges—the equitable promotion of health in a resource-constrained environment.

“The IBH program is a true differentiator for future leaders in healthcare,” explains Raskin.

“The opportunity for students to learn both the content of the healthcare system and the practical aspects of business will create well-rounded candidates who don’t exist yet in the undergraduate pool. As the owner of a small company in the healthcare community, I canʼt wait to find these job applicants.”

Student recruiting began this fall. Classes start in the fall of 2025.
