For Students, Faculty and Staff

As part of Lehigh Business, there are a number of opportunities for the SBDC and students to learn and grow from each other. Below is a sample of our experiential learning opportunities. Because we are dependent on grant funding, these opportunities are subject to availability of funds.

For questions about any of our opportunities, email us at or call us at (610) 758-3980.

Student Opportunities

Course Projects

Lehigh professors often use SBDC client businesses for real-world case studies and research projects. Our clients know the level of work Lehigh students can deliver, and incorporate those recommendations into their business strategies.

Work Study

Students who have work study as part of their financial aid package can consider the SBDC as an opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to helping small businesses in the Lehigh Valley. Each year we have a number of positions available that range from clerical to research. All available opportunities can be found on Handshake. Sample positions include:

Office Assistant

Answer phones, take messages, make copies, scan client documents to be uploaded, clerical duties as assigned.

Marketing Assistant

Design seminar and marketing flyers for Small Business Development Center and for clients (local businesses). Write stories for newsletter, including, but no limited to successes of SBDC clients. Compile information and articles into newsletters.

Research Analyst I

Research and prepare reports for SBDC clients.

Research Analyst II

Review and critique business plans for Small Business Development Center under supervision of SBDC Financial Assistance Program Director or SBDC Director.

Business Analyst

Consulting Club

The Lehigh SBDC regularly partners with the Lehigh Consulting Club to provide cases and research opportunities to members.
