Business Communication Courses

Lehigh business marketing class

The Rauch Center for Business Communication oversees the business communication course sequence that is required by all undergraduates in Lehigh’s College of Business.

In the first year, BUS 003: Business Communication I introduces students to the frameworks and foundational skills needed to deliver communication that is professional, clear, concise, evidence-driven, and persuasive. Students practice core forms of business communication, including memos, reports, and presentations, while developing strategies for communicating effectively in professional contexts.

When business students achieve junior standing, they engage in BUS 203: Business Communication II, which builds on the frameworks introduced in BUS 003. This course focuses on communicating data and analysis effectively, with particular emphasis on oral communication. Students learn to translate data into clear narratives that provide context for their messages and support persuasive recommendations in both written and presentation formats.
