Welcome to Lehigh's MS in Applied Economics Program for Agricultural Economics Students at NTU
This is an exceptional opportunity for qualified graduate students to pursue advanced degrees in agricultural economics and applied economics, bridging the academic excellence of National Taiwan University and Lehigh University.
Program Overview
The 2+1 program allows students to complete two graduate degrees in two phases:
Year 1&2 at National Taiwan University:
During the first two years, students will earn credits towards their Master’s in Agricultural Economics (AGECNTU). The curriculum includes core courses such as microeconomic theory, applied econometrics, macroeconomic theory, research methodology, and seminars, with a focus on agricultural economics.
Year 3 at Lehigh University:
In the third year, students will transition to Lehigh University’s College of Business to complete the Master's in Applied Economics (MSAE) program. This one-year, full-time program includes specialized courses in econometrics, applied microeconometrics, and policy economics, with elective tracks in Competition and Market Analysis or Policy Economics.
Curriculum Requirements
The 2+1 MASE program at Lehigh requires 30 credits in total with a minimum of 21 credits taken at Lehigh and 9 credits taken at NTU. Students must receive a minimum grade of B in AGECNTU courses to count toward the MSAE degree.
Students must complete 17 credits of required courses and 11 credits of elective courses prior to the start of the MSAE program. The course breakdown is listed below.

Application & Admissions Process
To qualify for the 2+1 program, AGECNTU graduate students must meet the admissions requirements outlined on the MSAE Admissions Page. Students interested in the 2+1 program can submit their application to Lehigh during their second year of study at NTU. On the application, students should apply for admission for the upcoming fall semester.
Fall Application Deadlines
- Round One: October 15
- Round Two: January 15
- Round 3: April 1
- Final: May 15
Admissions committees at both universities will review applications and determine eligibility for the respective programs. AGECNTU students are not guaranteed admission to the MSAE program.
Tuition, Fees and Additional Expenses
Students in the 2+1 program will pay 86% of the MSAE program tuition and 100% of applicable fees at Lehigh.
Students are also responsible for additional costs such as living expenses and must provide proof of financial guarantee for immigration purposes. Lehigh also requires all international students to purchase health insurance through the university.
A student within good standing, who formally withdraws or drops a course(s) before 60% of the semester has been completed, is eligible for a tuition refund.
