Antigoni Papadimitriou’s research interests include organizational change, organizational communication, quality management, strategic planning, entrepreneurship in creative industries, community development and engagement, responsible management education, student learning outcomes and assessment, university-engaged research, and mixed methods research. Her preferred theoretical frameworks are rooted in organizational theory, and she has used sensemaking, stakeholder theory, and social learning theories, wherein she utilizes mostly mixed methods research designs. Her research has been funded by grants from Johns Hopkins University, the Research Council of Norway, and the Greek Ministry of Education.
Her work has appeared in numerous journals including the Total Quality Management, Academic Ethics, Creative Industries, Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation, Tertiary Education and Management, Assessment Updates, Journal of European Integration, and European Educational Research. Professor Papadimitriou is an active member of the Academy of Management, Eastern Academy of Management, Responsible Research Network, International Humanistic Management Association and Mixed Methods Research Association. She serves as a scientific advising board for the Sinergie Italian Journal of Management, the International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches and the Total Quality Management Journal. She also serves as the Scientific Committee for the Italian Society of Management. Her research agenda is closely interwoven with the content and pedagogy of her teaching practice. In all courses, she emphasizes connections between theory and practice. Included in her teaching are innovative inclusive pedagogical activities such as simulations, case studies, and group projects that activate student interest in relationships between theory and practice. Furthermore, in professional fields, students can better see the practical value of learning theoretical concepts when instructors draw on their own professional and research experiences, which in turn stimulates a desire for further learning.
Before her appointment at Lehigh University, Papadimitriou served on the faculty at the Farmer Schools of Business, Miami University, Ohio, where she taught undergraduate courses in Leadership and Management, Business, Motivation and Employee Engagement. While at Johns Hopkins University and Western Kentucky University, she taught graduate and undergraduate courses such as OB, Leadership and Community Development, Global Leadership, Teams, Inclusive Leadership for Leading Effectively across Differences, Research Methods, Applied Research (Capstone Proposal), Leading and Managing Change, Strategic Planning, and Ethics, Integrity and the Responsibility of Leaders. Since 2014, she has served as a visiting professor at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management in Vietnam where she taught the course Performance Evaluation for the MBA in Quality Management.
Antigoni serves as a committee member for the Academy of Management Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC@AOM). She also was a basketball coach in Greece and the US.
