About the Program
The Business Communication Consulting Program offers peer-tutoring services to Business Communication I (BUS 003) students every semester.
Business Communication Consultants are business students who successfully completed BUS 003 and were selected through a competitive search process.
Business Communication Consultants are expected to:
- Provide peer tutoring for BUS 003 writing and presentation assignments during regularly scheduled office hours.
- Meet with the faculty teaching their assigned BUS 003 section(s) to discuss assignment expectations and share feedback during the semester. Consultants may also attend select BUS 003 classes.
- Collaborate with other Business Communication Consultants and faculty to promote consulting support to BUS 003 students.
- Meet regularly with other Business Communication Consultants and student/faculty leaders to:
- Share tutoring “best practices” and plan services and schedules to meet BUS 003 students’ needs.
- Plan and implement methods to collect student feedback to inform continuous improvement.
- Contribute communication-related articles to be posted online and shared via the Rauch Center for Business Communication’s newsletter to promote services and student accomplishments. Consultants may also be promoted to the Editorial Team.
