The Center for Applied Finance bridges the gap between Lehigh’s academic excellence and the accelerated finance employment recruiting cycle, ensuring students are 'Day One' ready for high-impact careers in finance through technical mastery and mentorship.

The Center for Applied Finance works in direct partnership with Lehigh’s established career resources—amplifying the foundational guidance of Center for Career & Professional Development and the Lehigh Business Undergraduate Office, while actively preparing students to step into the networks of the Wall Street Council and the Finance Mentorship Program. Through a highly structured, cohort-based roadmap, the Center guides students step-by-step through the highly technical components of finance interviews and advanced quantitative training, while collaborating directly with alumni networks to master the critical qualitative and behavioral skills required to excel. This comprehensive approach ensures our cohorts are perfectly positioned to maximize Lehigh's entire professional ecosystem and secure placement in jobs in the finance industry.

The Evolution of Finance Recruiting

There is a significant gap between classroom learning and the hyper-accelerated finance employment cycle. Recruiting of our students now commences as early as sophomore winter. This demands a level of technical niche training and alumni-led mentorship that falls outside the scope of traditional coursework and generalist career services.

Institutionalizing Student Success

Currently, students rely on peer-led clubs to bridge this gap. While members of these clubs are highly motivated, we believe the Center for Applied Finance will institutionalize our efforts, providing the continuity, expertise and firm relationships necessary to ensure Lehigh Business students are preparing for the global job market with the best possible support system.
