
A full teaching professor and industry veteran, Prof. Robert Kuchta, is a member of the Department of Management at Lehigh University. Prof. K has 35 years of deep-seated experience from top industry conglomerates AT&T Bell Laboratories, AT&T Corporate, Lucent Technologies, and Agere Systems. With exceptional dedication, he is currently responsible for delivering comprehensive content for the MGT 043 (Organizational Behavior) and rigorous capstone MGT 301 (Strategic Management in a Global Environment) undergraduate core courses.
Beginning in November 2022, immediately upon ChatGPT’s public release, Professor Kuchta recognized its transformational potential in enhancing higher education. He promptly adopted the tool into his instructional methodology, leveraging it to elevate both teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. By embedding ChatGPT into each of his courses, he created dynamic avenues for student engagement, critical thinking, and real-time problem-solving. The tool is now used to support student case analysis, simulate strategic planning conversations, clarify complex organizational behavior concepts, and provide enriched feedback loops—all while modeling responsible and ethical AI use.
As the visionary director of the innovative business minor program, Professor Kuchta plays an instrumental role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow by bringing to life the multifaceted realities of today's competitive business environment. It arms students in the arts and sciences, engineering, and health colleges with essential competencies to decisively participate in a firm's strategic decision-making process. These competencies are built around courses ranging from negotiating skills and project management essentials to product innovation, marketing strategies, business accounting, financials, and supply chain management and operations. This rich curriculum is delivered by a distinguished panel of industry-leading executives, carefully selected by Professor Kuchta.
Beyond teaching and administrative responsibilities, Prof. K takes charge of the program's comprehensive coordination. Supported by an exceptional staff, he oversees promotion, student recruitment, admission processes, program monitoring, faculty recruitment, as well as curriculum review and modification.
Prof. K’s education includes having a B.S. in Engineering Technology and an M.S. in Management Science, both from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
