A full teaching professor and industry veteran, Prof. Robert Kuchta is a member of the Department of Management at Lehigh University. Prof. K brings 35 years of deep-seated experience from top industry conglomerates including AT&T Bell Laboratories, AT&T Corporate, Lucent Technologies, and Agere Systems. He currently delivers comprehensive content for MGT 043 (Organizational Behavior) and the rigorous capstone MGT 301 (Strategic Management in a Global Environment) undergraduate core courses.
Professor Kuchta is a pioneering force in integrating artificial intelligence into business education. Beginning in November 2022, immediately upon ChatGPT's public release, he recognized its transformational potential and became one of the first educators to systematically embed AI tools across his entire curriculum. His innovative approach goes far beyond supplementary use—AI is woven into the fabric of every course he teaches, creating immersive learning experiences where students engage with cutting-edge technology while mastering core business concepts. Through carefully designed activities, students use AI tools to analyze cases, simulate strategic scenarios, dissect organizational dynamics, and solve complex business problems in real time. This integration not only deepens subject matter comprehension but also builds essential digital literacy, preparing students to leverage AI responsibly and strategically in their future careers.
Professor Kuchta co-delivered the hands-on experiential learning Masters in Management capstone graduate course, where the ODYSSEYseries™ incorporated students into working business problems at major corporations including Amazon, Harley-Davidson, Pratt & Whitney, and Yuengling Brewery. Student teams drew on their knowledge of business functions such as marketing and supply chain operations, human capital and resource allocation, finance, accounting, and business analytics to deliver actionable solutions.
Working alongside outstanding business-experienced faculty and staff, Professor Kuchta built the business minor program into the university's most popular minor. The program equips students from the arts and sciences, engineering, and health colleges with essential competencies to participate decisively in strategic business decision-making. Its rich curriculum spans negotiating skills, project management essentials, product innovation, marketing strategies, business accounting, financials, and supply chain management and operations, delivered by a distinguished panel of industry-leading executives.
Prof. K holds a B.S. in Engineering Technology and an M.S. in Management Science, both from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
