Lehigh alum, Steven Berns (pictured right), Class of 1986, brings more than 35 years of business and professional experience to Lehigh's FLEX MBA program as its newest adjunct faculty member.  Steven has worked alongside Dale Falcinelli, Professor of Practice, to co-develop and deliver "Startups & Pivots"— a VentureSeries course that focuses on the venture capital-backed company in transformation.

Steven's career path spans many industries in senior-level roles with high profile U.S.-listed public companies. He recently served as CFO of GTT Communications and was COO/CFO of Shutterstock. He was also EVP/CFO of Tribune Media Company and EVP/COO of Revlon. Early in his career, Steven was CFO of Tradeweb Markets and President of MDC Partners, an advertising and marketing holding company. Following his graduation from Lehigh, Steven was a CPA with predecessor firm Deloitte & Touche.

Steven currently serves on the board and chairs the audit committee of Forum Merger III and Forum Merger IV (both SPACs) and Tradeweb Markets. Previously, he served on the boards of other public companies including LivePerson and Shutterstock.

In addition to holding a B.S. in Business & Economics (major in accounting) from Lehigh University, Steven received his MBA in Finance from NYU's Stern School of Business.

"Our newest adjunct faculty member, Steven Berns is a huge addition to the Lehigh FLEX MBA VentureSeries. His C-level experience in corporate finance, capital raises, and M&A cuts across a wide spectrum of industries and raises the bar for MBA learning. Steven's classroom style challenges students to think creatively and sharpen their communication skills," added Dale Falcinelli, Professor of Practice in the College of Business and Director of VentureSeries.
