Katrina Zalatan is a full teaching professor of management whose work centers on helping people and organizations realize their positive potential. Her teaching focuses on organizational behavior, leadership, managerial communication, human resource management, and strategic management, and she teaches both undergraduate and graduate students at Lehigh University. 

Dr. Zalatan’s research and consulting focus on leadership and innovative pedagogical practices. She has led institutional planning and curriculum development projects supported by organizations including The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. She has also been recognized as a faculty fellow by the Mellon Foundation and Lehigh University’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning. Her work has been presented in venues including the Academy of Management, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, AACSB International, and invited academic and business sessions. 

Dr. Zalatan also brings extensive leadership experience to her work. She joined Lehigh University in 2009 as associate dean of Lehigh’s nationally recognized undergraduate programs. During her 14 years in that role, she built advising and enrollment management services, collaboratively created a professional development co-curriculum, and fostered a community dedicated to supporting and celebrating excellence. She also served as director of the Philip Rauch Center for Business Communication, where she oversaw Lehigh’s undergraduate business communication curriculum and teaching team. In addition, she designed and served for nearly a decade as faculty coordinator for the College of Business’s innovative Foundations of Business course, BUS 001. Before joining Lehigh, Dr. Zalatan served as a faculty member and dean of experiential and integrative learning at Hartwick College, where she also served as interim vice president of academic affairs. 

Prior to academia, Dr. Zalatan began her career in corporate consulting, helping improve the performance of marketing, sales, and service organizations, and she held marketing and management roles at Eastman Kodak Company. She holds a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Instructional Systems Design from Florida State University, an M.B.A. from the William E. Simon School of the University of Rochester, and a Ph.D. from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She also holds a specialty credential in People Analytics from the Society for Human Resource Management.
