The 1-MBA Early Decision Program* is designed for motivated and proactive college seniors or recent college graduates around the world who are seeking to secure admission to a future Lehigh University 1-MBA cohort, while gaining the necessary professional work experience for the MBA. This program accepts applications from current students in their final year of undergraduate study and recent college graduates who lack the two years of professional work experience required to begin the 1-MBA. The Early Decision Program allows applicants who are considering the 1-MBA at Lehigh University to complete the 1-MBA application and receive an admissions decision prior to achieving two years of professional work experience. Applicants who have been admitted to this program would have the ability to enroll in the 1-MBA after they achieve two years professional work experience or opt to defer another year, if the timing doesn’t work with their current employment.

The Benefits of the 1-MBA Early Decision Program

  • The admission program is intentionally designed for students who are proactive and like to plan their professional journey ahead.
  • Your test-taking skills will be at their peak during or recently after you graduate with your undergraduate degree, making it a great time to study and take the GMAT or GRE. GMAT and GRE scores are good for five years, so it makes sense to take the exam during or soon after graduation.
  • The ability to interact over your deferral time with 1-MBA staff, faculty, and students.
  • Applicants for the 1-MBA Early Decision Program may request an application waiver code by contacting business@lehigh.edu. Please mention you are applying for the 1-MBA Early Decision Program as you will need the waiver code before you submit the application.

*Professional Requirements:
To maintain this offer of admission, 1-MBA Early Decision Admitted Applicants must maintain their full-time employment status throughout their deferral period for a minimum of two years. Lehigh University does not assist 1-MBA Early Career Scholars with securing employment prior to become a student and does not assist students in obtaining U.S. work visas. In the event an admitted 1-MBA Early Scholar does not achieve satisfactory professional work experience, Lehigh University has the authority to rescind the offer of admission for this program. Lehigh University reserves the right to revoke an offer of admission at any point during the deferral period, if the candidate shows a significant drop in their academic performance during their final year of undergraduate studies, fails to achieve completion of their undergraduate degree, engages in fraud or misrepresentation of facts or has significant prolonged gaps between full-time positions.

Additional Requirements for the 1-MBA Early Decision Program for College Seniors or Recent College Graduates

  • 1-MBA Early Decision Admitted Applicants will be required to submit an annual form with updated employment information for each year of their deferral period, including years one and two.
  • If 1-MBA Early Decision Admitted Applicants want to defer matriculation beyond four years, they must reapply to the 1-MBA program.
