When is the final deadline to apply?

Application deadlines depend on when you plan to start the program. 

  • For a spring start, the final day to apply is November 15 for international applicants residing outside the U.S. and December 15 for domestic applicants. 
  • For a summer start, final applications are due on April 1 for international applicants residing outside the U.S. and May 1 for domestic applicants. 
  • For a fall start, international applicants residing outside the U.S. must submit applications by May 15, while prospective domestic students have until June 1.
When do classes start?

The start date for classes also depends on when you expect to begin the program:

  • For a spring start, classes begin in late January
  • For a summer start, classes begin in late May
  • For a fall start, classes begin in late August
What prerequisites need to be met to apply?

This program is ideal for students who have a strong foundation in business, mathematics, and data analysis. However, the program is not limited only to students with those backgrounds.

Prerequisites include:

  • Calculus (Math 021, Math 081, or equivalent)
  • Economics (ECO 001 or equivalent)
  • Statistics (ECO 045 or equivalent)
  • Python
  • Basic R Programming (strongly recommended)

How long does the degree take to complete?

The MSBA program can be completed in 11 to 18 months, depending on your start date and if you pursue an internship.

What does the program’s STEM designation mean?

The MS in Business Analytics contains an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes STEM fields, which qualifies the program as a STEM-designated degree. 

Additionally, all international students on an F1 visa are eligible for 12 months of post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT). Students in STEM-designated fields, as recognized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, may also be eligible for a 24-month OPT extension if their employment meets specific criteria and they apply within the final 90 days of their post-completion OPT period.
